Community Iftar Celebration 2024

 

You are invited to our FREE Community Iftar Celebration 

Date: Thursday 14th March 2024

Time: 5:00pm - 7:15pm

We are delighted to invite you and your family to our very first FREE Community Iftar Celebration. This event is a significant tradition in the Muslim community, where everyone gathers to break their fast during the holy month of Ramadan. As part of the event, we will be featuring a range of engaging activities for everyone to enjoy.

This invitation is for pupils and their families of  Hodge Hill Girls School, no matter what their beliefs or backgrounds. Tickets will be available on a first-come-first-served basis, and you can receive up to 3 free tickets per booking. Pupils must be accompanied by an adult.

Please make sure you arrive on time to help the event run smoothly. A polite notice that we will only have halal meat and vegetarian food options (food may contain traces of nuts and dairy).

Please login to your Parent Pay account and confirm your booking via the Trips section. The event will be called “Community Iftar – Thursday 14th March 2024”.

 

Provisional Schedule

5:00 - 5:30pm - Guests arrive 

5:30pm - Introductory speech

5:40pm - Student readings 

5:50pm - Guest talk and Duas 

6:26pm (tbc) - Azan - the call to prayer to prompt guests to break their fast (All Muslims who would like to pray Maghrib Salah (Sunset Prayer) can do so in Upper ILZ - segregated areas for males and females will be provided.)

6:30pm - Iftar will be served in Dining Hall

7:00pm - Final Remarks 

7:15pm - End of event
