9 November 2018
There has been a lot happening in school this week as we remember the centenary of the First World War Armistice.
Throughout the week pupils have learnt about a variety of different ways that the Armistice is being commemorated. This included looking 'Pages of the Sea'. Click on this link for more information.
On Wednesday Year 8 pupils worked in teams to create inspired poppy artwork.
Thursday saw our Birmingham at War competition winners visit the 'Birmingham Remembers 14-18' exhibition yesterday. They have reported that it was a fascinating and fabulous experience that has inspired them to learn more about the First World War. They highly recommend the exhibition, which contains photographs, medals, battlefield relics and memorabilia. Parents and pupils are invited to visit this this exhibition at the Oratory Church, Upper Cloister, Hagley Road, Birmingham, B16 8UE on Saturday 10th November between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
On Sunday at Birmingham Council House there is a further exhibition that may be of interest to our pupils and families. The Ladywood History Group presents 'Birmingham at War, 1914 to 1918' at the Council House in Victoria Square, Birmingham.
