9 March 2018

It is British Science Week Monday 12th March to Friday 16th March and we have lots of different activities during the week that will enhance learning of Science.

Year 7 are looking forward to a visit from Animals in Hands on Monday and will continue learning on the theme of ‘Discovery and Habitats’ throughout the week.

Year 8 are combining British Science Week with International Women’s Day as they learn more about inspirational scientists and their work that has changed the world we live in.

A number of pupils from Years 7 and 8 will visit the Thinktank in Birmingham this week to learn more about Science, Mathematics and Engineering.  With over 200 ‘hands-on’ displays on science and technology ranging from steam engines and talking robots through to gurgling guts and a chocolate wrapping machine, this will be a fascinating, informative and enjoyable day.

Year 9 will be exploring Science and potential careers as they visit the Big Bang Fair.  Our pupils will have the opportunity to speak with inspiring engineers and scientists from some of the UK’s biggest companies as they find out about the opportunities available in science and engineering.
